Selling books eBay vs. Amazon.com

This blog discusses my personal experience with eBay vs. Amazon.com

In a couple of months so far I've been able to make some money using eBay and Amazon.com.

Honestly, I prefer Amazon.com over eBay, because I like selling books. It is difficult to sell books on eBay and even on its half.com division. I have posted some books on Amazon and within a couple of weeks I have received a purchase. I have not received a purchase on half.com for books, nor on eBay.

Now, I realize that if a book is popular, it will sell on eBay/Half.com too. But most of the books I'm selling are books I owned at one time, so they may not be that popular (among the bestsellers).

I have been able to sell software on eBay, but then again, after listing 4 or 5 items and only selling one, it's kind of sad - why, because eBay will charge you a fee for listing, Amazon does not. eBay will let you list the item for 10 days max, Amazon lets you do this for 60 days, and you can re-list your item after this, manually, for free. Amazon only charges after you make your sale.

More on this topic later. Below are some books that I recommend to get you started on this business of selling online. I will be recommending more books in the next blog.
